Can I set up the same eSIM on multiple devices?

Last updated October 14, 2026

No. Each eSIM profile can only be set up on one device. If you need connectivity on more than one device, use your phone as a hotspot, or buy a separate plan for the second device.

The eSIM standard ties each profile to a single device — a GSMA security feature, not a Globeelink rule. Once you set up your eSIM on a phone, the activation code becomes invalid for any other device.

Option 1: Hotspot from your phone

Once your eSIM is active, share that data via personal hotspot — the most common setup for solo travellers or couples sharing one plan. Hotspot use counts against your allowance.

Option 2: Separate plans for each device

If you have a tablet or second phone that supports eSIM, buy a separate plan for it; each runs independently.

What if I switch phones mid-trip?

If you replace your phone, your eSIM stays on the old device — an eSIM can't be moved or transferred between phones, and our networks don't support it. If you've switched phones mid-trip, the simplest fix is a fresh plan on the new one.
