Will I still receive calls and messages on my regular number?
Last updated October 14, 2026
Your number stays with your home SIM and keeps working for calls and messages. The eSIM carries data only, and WhatsApp keeps working as normal over your Globeelink data.
Dual-SIM phones run both lines independently: your home SIM handles calls and texts to your home number; your Globeelink eSIM handles mobile data.
What works
Calls and SMS to your home number arrive normally, including 2FA codes.
WhatsApp, iMessage, and similar apps keep working over the Globeelink data.
What's different
Receiving (and especially making) calls or texts on your home line abroad may trigger your home carrier's roaming charges. To avoid them, use calling apps over your Globeelink data, or disable the home SIM during the trip. Most travellers keep the home SIM on for incoming calls and 2FA and use apps over Globeelink data for outbound.
