What about the dormant eSIM on my phone?
Last updated October 14, 2026
After your plan ends, the eSIM profile stays on your phone. While it can still be revived (about 30 days on supported networks), keep it — topping up brings it back. Once it's past reviving, it's just dormant: leave it or remove it.
It stays on your phone using no data and costing nothing. While it's still revivable, keeping it means a top-up can bring the same eSIM back with your unused data. Once the revive window has passed — or on a plan that can't be revived — it's fully dormant; leave it or remove it (Settings > Mobile Service > tap the line > Remove eSIM). A dormant eSIM can't be reused for a future trip — each new trip gets a fresh eSIM.
